Mariano Carranza is an Emmy Award-nominated Director and Producer. He has a special place in his heart for documentaries and also loves to make commercials, ads, and premium content, with an emphasis on food, travel, identity, and culture.
With over a decade of experience as staff at VICE and CNN’s Original Content Studios “Great Big Story”, Mariano directed the Miami episode of the Netflix Show 'Street Food: USA,' which was on the Top 10 Netflix TV Shows in its first weeks out. He also made a film for the Peruvian legendary chef Gastón Acurio, which premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
Mariano is currently a full-time freelancer and continues working with global companies like Lonely Planet, Vans, Bloomberg, AB InBev, Salesforce, etc. He’s a proud alumnus of NYU’s Film School, where he has since returned as a guest lecturer. He loves to cook and has a growing collection of Latin American records.
